Android was the new kid on the block, with the audacious goal of making mobile computing accessible to everyone, everywhere. At that time, active users on Android had just grown from 100 million to 400 million. I joined the team in 2012, only a few months after Google Play launched. We’re so proud of this amazing milestone, and grateful for your partnership. 2.5 billion people in over 190 countries visit Play every month to connect with your apps and games, and Play has generated over $120 billion in earnings for developers to date. Over the past decade, your creativity combined with our investment in a global platform has created a thriving app ecosystem. This week we are celebrating ten years of Google Play.
